Transportation

Following is a list of taxi companies and bus routes that may be used to get around Seattle.

Fares - $1.25 to $1.50 per adult depending on zones traveled, $.50 for children 6 to 17.  Please have exact amount available - they do not give change. 

Riding Metro Transit is free between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. in Downtown Seattle.

The Ride Free Area extends from the north at Battery St. to S. Jackson St. on the south, and east at 6th Ave. to the waterfront on the west. Tunnel stations are included in the Ride Free Area, but the waterfront streetcar is not.

The Downtown Seattle Map shows the boundaries of the Ride Free Area.

The following routes, 17 and 74, will take you directly to most locations desired.  The bus stop is just north of the China Harbor Restaurant.  Stand on the same side of the street as China Harbor for travel north and on the opposite side of the street for travel south towards downtown.

Route 17

Going South - To Downtown, Pike Place Market, Waterfront, Pioneer Square, Seahawks Stadium, and Safeco Field.

Going North - To Ballard.

Click Route 17 Schedule to get the current timetable of stops.  The bus will stop at China Harbor about 3 min. after the 3rd Ave. West stop on the southbound bus and 3 min. before the 3rd Ave. West stop on the northbound bus.

Route 74

Going South - To Seattle Center, Pacific Science Center, Opera House, and Key Arena.

Going North - To Fremont and the University (of Washington) District.

Click Route 74 Schedule to get the current timetable of stops.  The bus will stop at China Harbor about 5 min. after the  North 34th St. stop on the southbound bus and about 5 min. before the North 34th St. stop on the northbound bus.
